The game
Is this real gameplay?
Yes. The pictures on this site are real screenshots from Alderfolk in development. The game is still changing, so the final look may differ.
Can I play it yet?
Not yet. Alderfolk is in development and is coming to Steam. There is no public download.
What kind of game is it?
A cosy medieval village-builder. You found a village, grow it through the seasons, and follow your families across generations.
Release and Steam
Is there a release date?
Yes. Alderfolk is planned for release on 10 December 2026 on Steam.
Which platform is it being made for?
Windows PC is the development target. Final system requirements and any other platforms will be announced once they have been tested.
How much will it cost?
We have not announced a price.
Where will I be able to buy it?
On Steam. The Steam page is live, and the Steam button at the top of this site links to it.
The email list
What do I get if I sign up?
One email when Alderfolk launches. No newsletter and no other emails.
Why do you send a confirmation email first?
To check the address is yours. Until you confirm it, it is not on the list, and an unconfirmed address is deleted automatically after 48 hours.
Do you share or sell the list?
No. We never sell addresses and we do not use them for anything else.
How do I leave the list?
Press Opt out at the bottom of the confirmation email and we remove your address straight away. You can also write to [email protected]. The privacy page explains the details.
Contact and support
How do I report a bug?
Choose “A bug or technical problem” in the form. Tell us what you were doing, what happened and what you expected. A short video or a screenshot helps a lot.
What files can I attach?
Images, video, PDF, text, log, JSON, CSV and zip files. Up to 5 files, 25 MB each and 50 MB in total. Files are stored privately and are not published.
Can I try a build?
Not yet. There is no public build and no playtest has been announced.
How long until I get a reply?
We are a small team and reply as soon as we can. We cannot promise a time.
I am writing about press or a partnership.
Choose “Press or media” or “Partnership or business”. Screenshots and the logo are in the press kit.
What happens to my message?
It goes to our team mailbox and we use it only to reply to you. You can ask us to delete it at any time. See the privacy page.
